03/24/2014  - FLWISE Rollout Complete

Today is a historic day for Florida WIC.  As of today, all local WIC agencies have transitioned to our new data system, FL-WiSE, and WIC EBT.  Congratulations!  This accomplishment could not have been achieved without the hard work and long hours of all of you. The project required the efforts of our project team, contractors and federal partners whose skills and expertise sheparded this project to fruition, the many WIC experts at the state and local level who conceived of changes to the transferred system and who spent many hours learning and testing the system through trial and error, the wonderful team in Miami-Dade who exhibited incredible patience as they piloted the new system and made it better from their experiences, the staff who continued to keep WIC services going while other staff were diverted to implementation activities, and all WIC staff statewide who put in many hours to learn the new system and promote it to our clients.  Everyone made this project successful.

Speaking on behalf of the Department, this is to recognize your efforts.  You have not only made Florida WIC the talk of the nation but have made the Florida Department of Health look good.  More importantly, we can now offer our clients a better way to receive their WIC benefits.  So take a moment out of your day to be proud for what you do daily.  You are making a difference in the lives of the mothers and children in Florida.     (Debbie Eibeck)

10/1/2014 – Three Sigma Software Completes Examination in Conformity with Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization

Completion of the SSAE 16 Type I examination indicates that selected Three Sigma Software processes, procedures and controls have been formally evaluated by an independent accounting and auditing firm as placed in operation as of the date above. The examination included the company’s controls related to the WIC on the Web system hosted at the Baltimore Data Center.
SSAE 16 is designated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an acceptable method for a user entity’s management to obtain assurance about service organization internal controls without conducting additional assessments. In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SSAE 16 reports even more important to the process of reporting on effective internal controls by public companies.

A SSAE 16 examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an evaluation of their control activities as they relate to an audit of the financial statements of its customers.
